2018 Rods ‘N Rhodies 11th Annual Invitational Car Show!

SEPTEMBER 7-9 Rods ’n Rhodies and Community-wide Garage Sale Weekend Florence will be in top gear and revved-up for you during the 11th Annual Invitational Rods ‘N Rhodies Car Show presented by the Florence Area Chamber of Commerce September 7-9. Rods ’N Rhodies Weekend includes the fifth annual Community-wide Garage Sale with dozens of residential and commercial sales all around town. Top Hot Rods and Classic Cars to Shine The event showcases up to 125 of the best high-end hot rods and custom cruisers from 1976 and earlier. (Get your ride in the show! Click here to apply online!) Because Rods ’N Rhodies is an invitational, you know you’ll see some of the West Coast’s most gorgeous, amazing, awe-inspiring hot rods at different venues all weekend.

Xwest Huck Fest • Dune Riders International Sandboard World Tour

September 8, 2018 @ 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Three Rivers Casino, 5647 Hwy 126, Florence

The ‘Xwest Huck Fest’ is an annual sandboard event sponsored by the Xwest brand clothing company, Sand Master Park and Three Rivers Resort. It features sandboarding jumps and trick and is held on site at Three Rivers Resort, Florence. This event is open to all levels from amateur to professional and free to participate or spectate.

Tango of the White Gardenia – Cascadia Chamber Opera

Tango of the White Gardenia In celebration of our 10th season, Cascadia Concert Opera is excited to premiere and commission an original work by Ethan Gans-Morse and libretto by Tiziana DellaRovere. Tango of the White Gardenia, a compelling new chamber opera in English, weaves together humor, emotional depth, and timely messages through the riveting music and dance of Argentine Tango. At its core, it is a contemporary story told through a new kind of opera that offers fun winks and nods to the commedia dell’arte style of centuries past.

Florence Kites & Habitat Beach Walk

Florence Half Marathon

September 22, 2018 @ 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Miller Park, 1651 18th St., Florence

The third annual Florence Half Marathon offers views of the Siuslaw River, four aid stations with water, GU Energy Gels, Electrolyte beverages, snacks and toilets. All finishers receive a medallion and an additional medallion is awarded to the top 3 in each age group, in 5 year increments. Participants enjoy post-race refreshments and chip timing by Eclectic Edge Racing. Racers fly in for this event, as it is a destination event in Lane County and sees participants from eight states, as far east as Massachusetts.

Florence Festival of Books Keynote Speaker
